About Allentown Parking Authority
The Allentown Parking Authority manages, supervises and administers an efficient system of both on-street metered parking and off-street parking within the City of Allentown. The on-street program consists of 1500 metered spaces, which are regularly checked and monitored by our officers. There are various permits available for our metered parking spaces for contractors and laborers, special events and more. Likewise, the ownership and operation of seven parking garages downtown comprises a large portion of our off-street operation. These seven garages total approximately 3917 parking spaces. In addition, the Authority operates and/or leases 25 surface lots, totaling another 1,011 parking spaces. We take your safety very seriously, keeping t

Iβm extremely frustrated with my experience with the Allentown Parking Authority. I have unpaid parking tickets that Iβm actively trying to take care of, but they arenβt showing up on the website, making it unnecessarily difficult to figure out how to pay them. What makes this even more frustrating is that I feel like residents are being targeted for profit rather than being treated fairly. The amount of money people are expected to pay in parking tickets and fees is absolutely ridiculous, especially when the system makes it difficult to even find and resolve those tickets. I understand that parking rules exist and that people are responsible for their tickets, but the process should be straightforward, transparent, and reasonable. When tickets arenβt showing online and people are still expected to pay potentially large amounts, it feels incredibly unfair. The Allentown Parking Authority needs to do better. People shouldnβt feel like they are being taken advantage of just because theyβre trying to park and live in their own city. -1 / 5starβοΈ

No professional courtesy with delivery companies. If you live or work downtown and your shipments are late, it is because parking authority is making us circle the streets, waiting for an official "Loading Zone" to open, rather than just park. And to delivery personal out there, have your managers give you a roll of quarters. You'll be paying for parking your delivery trucks from now on.

I've been a tenant at Strata West for 6 years. Moving out this week. We use the ArtsWalk parking as part of our lease agreement. I got a parking ticket for using my own loading bay because someone complained about it. Tried disputing the ticket at the authority's HQ and was told I would have to go to court and if I lost, pay the maximum fee plus court fees. What a stupid system. Imagine getting a ticket for using your own facility. People overstay the loading bay all the time. I never considered complaining about it. I was literally in and out all morning offloading stuff into my vehicle. 1 Star for the lack of understanding, and to that petty neighbor, karma in full swing.

Asked the supervisor to look at the photos they took that clearly show my vehcile was not committing a violation while citing the ordinance proving my case. Supervisor then claimed she was losing reception and couldn't hear me over the phone. Load of BS.

Allentown Parking Authority fails to set a good example for the city. Blocking a fire hydrant with a parked vehicle? Edited my review to show ANOTHER vehicle parked in front of the hydrant on a different date. 1/8/25: Edited my review AGAIN to show another Parking Authority vehicle illegally parked, with its driver actively handing out tickets.
